Many musicians, actors, and celebrities today are now heavily into the cannabis culture. More and more celebrities are speaking about their cannabis usage and even lending their voices for the legalization and decriminalization of the drug.
The rush of these celebrities into the cannabis space indicates how cannabis is now being accepted in the mainstream. So in no particular order, we bring you a list of some of the biggest celebrity cannabis users.
Celeb #1: Snoop Dogg
It’s no secret that Snoop Dogg likes smoking cannabis. The 48-year-old rapper born Calvin Broadus is one of the highest-profile cannabis users in the world. Snoop Dogg is very expressive about his love of cannabis and is renowned for lighting up on stage during live performances.
Celeb #2: Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg is not shy about confessing her love for cannabis. In a 2014 column she wrote for The Cannabist, she described how cannabis has been effective in the treatment of her glaucoma. She was infamously quoted as saying “My vape pen and I maintain a mostly private relationship.” Whoopi Goldberg strongly believes in the medical properties of cannabis that she launched her own line of CBD products — Whoopi and Maya.
Celeb #3: Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is also not one to hide her love for smoking cannabis. She is a huge fan of cannabis and admitted to smoking “up to 15 spliffs a day because it’s quite liberating” The 33-year-old musician has credited cannabis for helping her deal with the chronic pain she experiences from fibromyalgia. In an interview with “60 Minutes” sometime in 2011, she said she often smokes cannabis when she writes music in order to stimulate her creativity. She also resorts to smoking cannabis in order to manage the emotional and physical stress that comes with living in the spotlight.
Celeb #4: Patrick Stewart
Popular actor Patrick Stewart also recently announced that he smokes cannabis every day. He made the announcement in 2017 to support a new initiative by Oxford University to research the medical benefits of cannabis. He also admitted to using cannabis to manage his pain caused by arthritis. Stewart hopes that with his announcement, the “prejudice, fear, and ignorance” associated with cannabis research will be completely erased.

Miley Cyrus is one of the most popular celebrities in the world and she too has been very open about her cannabis affinity and the legalization of it. During an interview with “Rolling Stone”, she gushed about how “weed is the best drug on earth.” She also said that she prefers smoking to drink.
